Link message board user guidelines

Important note: The message board is not moderated at all times

These rules have been drawn up from general comments sent to AYME by Link members. They wish the board to maintain a positive atmosphere of support and friendship. In particular, points 1 and 2 below have been specifically requested by Link members.

1. This message board is to be used for the following purposes:

1.1 To give peer support

1.2 To exchange hints and tips about caring for young people with ME

1.3 To be friendly and welcoming



2. It is not for:

2.1 To criticise AYME, its services, staff, volunteers or trustees - please follow the complaint procedure listed below at number 4

2.2 To intimidate other users



3. Inappropriate posts that disregard the above points will be removed to save bandwidth.


4. If you have any complaints or constructive criticism please email them to the trustees c/o of the AYME office info@ayme.org.uk. Trustees and staff rarely use this board and criticisms or complaints posted here are unlikely to come to their attention.


5. If you have problems using the board please email our volunteer Online Services Team Manager onlineservices@ayme.org.uk.


6. Do not post personal details on the board, of yourself or anyone else, including your address, telephone number credit card details, etc. AYME cannot be held responsible for your communications outside of this board.


7. Do not swear on the board. Try to avoid using capital letters - IT IS LIKE SHOUTING!


8. Don't post defamatory, abusive, obscene, threatening or illegal material. Anything considered likely to cause upset to any user or AYME will be removed.


9. Keep private disputes private and away from the board.


10. Moderators are only doing their job, so be nice! Posts attacking the board's moderators will not be tolerated.


11. Do not use the board to make money. Don't use it to sell, advertise or market products either or your own, another company or on another web site.


12. Don't shut people out if they have a different opinion to yours. Welcome all members.


13. Be tolerant. If a user says something you don't like, don't make a snap reply. Very rarely do people intend to upset.


14. Do not give your password to anyone.


15. Don't jeopardise your use of this board - stick to the rules!
